You know me.
I like dogs.
So instead of wasting time watching big humans wrestling in a field, I will be watching cute puppies playing on theirs.
PUPPY BOWL XIX is Sunday, February 12 at 2P ET/11A PT on Animal Planet.
Deal or no Deal?
Seems a delay in Opening Day is now for sure as the stalemate between owners and players in Baseball continues.
According to ESPN, "There are several macro reasons this hasn't gotten done -- the players' deep-seated mistrust of ownership, a desire to make significant gains on a Collective Bargaining Agreement that was gamed by savvy front offices, a nationwide penchant by corporate billionaires to maximize profits no matter the blowback -- but here's a micro one: At the onset of negotiations, owners expressed a willingness to reallocate the money that goes to players but not to increase it. In other words, the pie could change but not grow any larger."
Fox News reports recently that the players are not happy, but surprisingly there is little coverage in this news outlook.
For real news coverage see the New York Times.
My solution? Fans go support the local school players, whether high school or college. They need your support more now than ever.
My thoughts go out to the fans who had secured opening day tickets. And more importantly, the workers who depend on income from the games like food concessionaires and parking staff.
I watched this Cricket game for a bit on Christmas day after taking Bubba-Doo for a walk in a local park. I still don't understand the rules, but it was nice to see some folks enjoy the "spring like" weather. Today, on the other hand is quite cold even though it is sunny for the dog walk.
The video had to be downgraded to upload from my cell phone so it is not that great.
Seems to be some travel headaches for winter Olympic athletes. Since the global crisis, flights to and from China have dwindled making it a a challenge for people to get to the events.
Further, and complicated this year due to the crisis, are the challenges to host such a mega event.
One good thing is that vaccines are required or face a 21 day "layover."
Oh yeah, be sure to watch Curling (photo from 2018, Vegas men's world Championship).
Let's take a break from the Appalachian Trail and talk about America's favorite pastime. No, not soccer, but baseball. Seems pitchers are applying sticky substances to the ball to give them an edge.
Why? Well "The purpose of the substance is fairly clear: To help pitchers make the baseball curve, dip and hop more than it normally would."
In other words cheat.
Wishing to diffuse the huge misunderstanding that Georgia voters failed to reinstate Mr. Trump last fall, the late president is offering Mar-a-Lago to ill informed voters for spring time outings.
"I will take a hit on this financially, but those ill advised voters in Georgia can visit my historic home" and play a round of golf and a reduced rate of $10,000 a night per person. Mr. Trump will waive the normal $100,000 initiation fee if paid in cash.
it's the biggest game on all fours
Get pumped for Animal Planet's annual fluff fest, kicking off Sunday, Feb. 7 @ 2PM EST and hosted by Martha & Snoop.
Can't wait until Paris 2024 when we get to see Breakdancing as a new event! The spinning and twirling should be spectacular.
Also good news is the subtraction of Boxing and to a lesser degree Weight Lifting. I mean watching people beat the s&*t out of each other is not what I call a sport. Just like the fools who drive around in a circle in a fast car is not a sport IMHO.
