Plan 9 From Outer Space TONIGHT on TCM

 I always like to remind people that the Turner Classics Movies channel shows the best in CLASSIC film.  And tonight is no different.

Eight PM eastern you will find Plan 9 from Outer Space.

I had this on VHS, certainly on DVD, but get this, I also have it on 16mm!

Never heard of it, check out the IMDB site or just google it. Also try the Internet Archive for a copy to watch or download.  No shortage of info.

No TCM, find a copy and enjoy.

Turner Classic Movies this month

October is one of favorite months to watch TV.  After all TCM, (emphasis on the Classic!) offers a great line up of horror films.  And if that is not enough, how about Godzilla Fridays!

Holy cow!

And for the 31st, invite some friends over for an all night extravaganza, pop some corn, and for heaven's sake, leave the lights on!

North by Northwest

This is one of my favorite films.  Directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starring Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint and James Mason, this classic thriller was a remarkable event to see on the big screen.  North by Northwest is more than just the airplane scene or Mount Rushmore, it is a fast paced adventure following Grant (RoT) as he is chased and chases the bad guys.

Thanks to TCM and Fanthom Entertainment for getting this film on the big screen.

Hitchcock on TCM Sundays

Now, one of my favorite directors in Alfred Hitchcock.  North by Northwest is my favorite film of his but on Sunday's this month, when I should be reading, Turners Classic Movies is showcasing "Hitch".

While the ever popular films are to be shown like The Birds, Psycho, Rope, The Wrong Man, also found are his other films that are less frequently shown on TV.

Today, for example, you could have caught or catch, depending on when you read this Blog, Under Capricorn, Stage Fright, Saboteur and of course, North by Northwest.

Later this month check out Lifeboat, Number 17, Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, Family Plot, The Lady Vanishes, Torn Curtain, Topaz, The 39 Steps, Dial M for Murder, Strangers on a Train, Suspicion and many others.

Rainy Day Recreation

So I am a wimp sometimes. I used to go outside in any kind of weather. In fact, the wetter, the colder, the better. Ok, maybe not the wet stuff.

And summertime meant prime backpacking time. Now I prefer to hit the trails in the fall, when the temperatures are milder and there are NO bugs!

Anyway, the purpose of this particular blog is to highlight the Classic entertainment available today on Turner CLASSICS Movies (TCM).

Where else can you wake up to The Manster, followed by The Killer Shrews. Too bad I am doing a road trip today. (I got these films on DVD besides).

You might want to catch The Green Slime at noon Eastern. This one I have on 16mm!
