RIP Dr. Wolfgang Haider (1953 – 2015)

I was saddened to hear about the unexpected death of Wolfgang Haider.  I first got to know Wolfgang at the early years of the Northeastern Recreation Research Symposium and later at the International Symposium of Society and Natural Resources.  He was always pleasant and encouraged me and others in recreation and geography.

I watched Star Trek in the Sixties.  Rest in Peace Mr. Spock.

I also remember him from Zombies of the Stratosphere.

Roy Wolfe RIP

Roy I. Wolfe, Professor of Geography Emeritus, York University, died on November 15, 2014.

RIP Tom Magliozzi

You might not recognize the name but if I say Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers, you will immediately recognize Car Talk on NPR.  He passed last Monday at 77.

He will be missed.

Ray Harryhausen RIP

A true artist. Ray Harryhausen passed away earlier this week.  See his website for details.  I met him briefly at the Monster Bash Conference a decade or so ago, and I am glad to have had the opportunity!
