Seytan (Turkish 'Exorcist') 1974

Şeytan

Wikipedia says: Şeytan is a 1974 Turkish cult horror film that is plagiarized off of William Friedkin’s The Exorcist (1973), directed by Metin Erksan.

The film was apparently shot with a low budget, resulting in a grainy and poor image quality, and is essentially a shot-for-shot remake of The Exorcist, with only minor differences. Şeytan was out of print until 2007, when it was released in DVD.

Treesearch is the Best

I really like Scholar Google for finding research, but an all time favorite is Treesearch.  More than just trees mind you, but a whole slew of social and natural resource management stuff.  And in January they reached a milestone "As of January 2018, the Forest Service has added more than 50,000 full-text peer-reviewed publications to Treesearch, an online source for agency science publications."

Free resources on the Web

It just amazes me on the availability of information on the web. For a brief timeline of the "internet" see this link:

When I was a grad student in the eighties, we had email. And we could connect to other computers via FTP. And I would spend hours exploring (exploring wasn't coined until the 1990s) the networks trying to find environmental data like satellite imagery. It was all free back then, and for the most part, it still is. Just try "googling" free satellite imagery to see what you can get (besides Google Earth).
