End of Year Donations

 Hmmm, that could be a long list.  

First there are the natural disasters.  You name it, Hurricanes, Tornados, Earthquakes and Volcanoes. 

Pick the area of the world and try to find an organization that is on the ground and donate time if you are local or money if not.

Then there are the social disasters.  We got war, loss of human rights, healthcare so no shortage here.  Vet the organization and if not sure give to a large blanket group to help out.

We still have groups that have suffered from the Covid-19 crisis. Loss of jobs especially in food service. So buy local and eat local.  Forget the chains and go for the local restaurants.  No shortage here.

And whatever you do and can do, smile and be friendly to all.

Have a good holiday, stay healthy and have a wonderful New Year.

USPS Postal Carriers Food Drive this Saturday.

 Time to pack up some non-perishable foods like canned soups, veggies and mac and cheese for the annual food drive.

Put the food in a sturdy plastic bag (double if rain is in the forecast), and place by your mailbox.

Time to tackle food insecurity in the US.

I hope this note finds you and yours happy.  So take some time to help others who may not be happy by donating time, money and/or goods to help those affected by earthquakes, hurricanes, hunger or poverty.

Since the Caribbean has been hit hard and many depend on tourism to their income, consider taking some of that vacation money to help our neighbors out.  The Red Cross is one of many organizations that you can use.  And Nuestras Raices in Holyoke, Mass, is collecting for Puerto Rico.

Halloween is all about kids. And some kids are pretty old. So while you might give out those candy bars to the neighborhood kids, don't forget about taking some good food to your local food pantry. Just "google" your town and "food pantry" and I am sure you will find a pantry needing your can of soups, mac and cheese, canned veggies and other non-perishable food items.
