Shenandoah National Park

I wonder why so many "thru-hikers" skip this national park and do a canoe trip?

It is a beautiful park, lots of tame wildlife and some spectacular views.

Sure you need to deal with the many road crossings of the Skyline Drive, but at these crossings I got so much Trail Magic!  You would find food cached at LTs also and if packaged well you might consider it.

At one road side rest area, a family in a Winnebago invited me in for a burger to hear my story so far.  After all I had 900 miles behind me.

The trail is great,  but also the people, the soul.
