St. Quentine's Castle in Wales is a very pretty site and perfect for a picnic.

Historical Ruins in State Parks

Nothing new here.  Parks and recreation always gets the short end of the stick when if comes to funding.

So now we may start a new line of research, that is studying neo-historical ruins in our parks.  Check out some ruins in Robinson State Park in Massachusetts.

Urban Ruins Exploration

Interested in visiting sites of urban ruins?  That is old factories, warehouses and other abandoned buildings and infrastructure.  While there guided tours, most of this kind of tourism is more for the renegades, those willing to trespass.  Want to learn more?  visit....

I suspect there is some story at this location, but without taking the time to research it, and certainly no signage at the site, this ruin is just a mystery.

Old and New(er) Vienna

I am fascinated by old stuff. I haven't been to the Pyramids of Egypt but have seen the Mayan Ruins in Belize, the Nuraghe Monuments in Sardinia and these Roman ruins in Vienna.

I think our town, Westfield, Massachusetts is old since it was incorporated in 1669, but that pales in comparison to these really old sites.

Take the time to learn the history of the places you visit. It will make the experience that much more interesting.
