We need the outdoors. 

And many of our younger people do not get enough exercise.

Also they do not get outdoors.

So instead of playing video games, texting and other device managed behaviors, get outside.

A new federal land program encourages this healthy behavior.

2017 NATIONAL PARK SERVICE FEE FREE DAYS

Explore your National Parks!  Thanks to the National Park Service, all national parks across the country will waive admission fees on the following days throughout 2017:

January 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day

February 20: Presidents Day

April 15-16 and 22-23: Weekends of National Park Week

August 25: National Park Service Birthday

September 30: National Public Lands Day

November 11-12: Veterans Day Weekend

The National Park Service is offering another one of the those "free days" this weekend, so get off the couch and visit one.

This weekend, in honor of Veteran's Day, there will be free entrances to National Parks.  See this list by state.

Free National Parks next weekend

In celebration of Veterans Day, there will be no admission fees at National Parks or at Bureau of Land Management areas from November 11-13, 2011.

So if you need a break from clearing the broken trees off your property, head on out to the Parks. Find one close to home by visiting this link.
